John Philip Newell Celtic Theology For Parenting Instruction.
Winona Poole will be teaching a course in childhood education based on Celtic spirituality and the teachings of John Philip Newell at Ghost Ranch this summer.
“Teaching Children in the Celtic Way” is an alternative pedagogical approach to teaching children (grades 1-5) about God, Jesus, themselves and the world around them. Built on the theology of Celtic spirituality and the teachings of John Philip Newell as well as other Celtic teachers, this class will involve participants in reviewing their own children’s church programs and curricula, as well as discussing alternative theological and pedagogical approaches.
Participants may be pastors, teachers or parents interested in discussing a relational, creationcentered and empowering way of doing Christian education with our children. As part of their enrollment, participants will be given an electronic version of the instructor’s Lessons From the Garden curriculum.
Course Dates: July 23-29, 2012
