The Pattern of Iona Pilgrimage Weeks:

Each day begins and ends with the rhythm of prayer and meditation together, either at the Abbey or elsewhere on the island. The mornings are given to teaching and sharing, and the afternoons to silence and hiking.

On at least one of the days we walk the island pilgrimage route together to reflect on the journey of our lives and world. Wholesome breakfasts and evening meals, with provision from the organic gardens of the hotel, are an important part of our community life together.

Some Reviews from Iona Pilgrims:

"If I were to sum up my time on the Pilgrimage for Change on Iona in one sentence, I would talk about time spent in a thin place, being challenged and supported by peers. It is hard to find an opportunity to be with a group of people who are struggling with how they want to live in the world, so when it occurs in such a safe space of care and love, and includes challenging one another... it is wonderful. Also transformative for me was hearing about a theology that is so rooted in past theologies, yet provides a radically different way of looking at relationships with one another and with our environment. ... I also feel more confident in my ability to both acknowledge and hold the suffering of the world while living out of love. Yet another part of learning came out of being reminded that as I work for change in the world, I need to do things that fill me up, like chanting and tai chi. I am so grateful for my experience on Iona and for being challenged and supported by an amazing group of pilgrims."

Hannah Campbell Gustafson

"The week as a whole has been the most spiritually nurturing experience I have ever had, and it was humbling to meet so many people who are all committed to working for change in their local communities and in the world as a whole. I left feeling encouraged and invigorated to continue my own ministry and to actively work for positive change in the church, and in my community."
